Jim values people and helps others in their relationships. His own combination of relational successes and failures, joys and pains, has deepened this passion. He enjoys cultivating connection in meaningful relationships and understands the confusion, frustration, and pain of people at the intersection of struggling/thriving relationships — viewing the struggle as a potential pathway to a better future. Jim's own life has been an unexpected, winding journey: born and raised in Texas, he lived in Asia for over a decade and spent many years as a professor and pastor. He has done extensive graduate work in theology, spirituality, and clinical counseling, and professionally focuses on loving relationships, especially with couples.
